There are many active binary newsgroups that offer music (mp3, ogg, etc), movies (dvd, vcd, DiVX), applications (Windows, Mac, Linux), and games. There are also literally hundreds of picture newsgroups. To get a good idea of what binary files are out there right now, go to [[http://www.newzbin.com/ Newzbin]] and do some browsing.

For accessing binary newsgroups, you will want a few tools:

So, you have the parts, now what? Then you browse [[http://www.newzbin.com/ Newzbin]] and find the posts you want, save the .nzb file, and open it with [[http://www.newsbin.com/ newsbinpro]], which will automatically download, organize, and reconstitute the files.
Once your download is done, you will need to uncompress it (.zip, .rar, .r00, etc). For that, you will want Winzip and/or Winrar.
