SpamBox
You can allow SpamAssassin to automatically store email in a spam folder under each user. This setting is not adjustable or controllable by user with this approach, but it does work, and reduces your daily download of spam.
This is based on a shared account - and may or may not be similar on others - Mods encouraged.
- Enable SpamAssassin through the NetAdmin or cPanel.
- Set the score as you desire. The default is 5.0, but they say 8.0 to 10.0 may be more appropriate in a multi-user environment. I use 5.0.
- Create a blank file with your favorite text editor and save it as .spamassassinboxenable. Note: Make sure it starts with a period, and does NOT have a file extension!
- Using FTP upload a blank file called .spamassassinboxenable to the /home/username directory. This is at the same directory level as public_html .
- This will store all messages with a SA score over your setting the SPAM folder. This folder is not POPable, but can be read with WebMail programs.
- This will create the required SPAM folder when a spam is moved to the folder.
- In SquirrellMail you need to go to Filters and Subscirbe to the SPAM folder to get it to show up.
